Instructional Accommodations and Modifications Modules
Training of Trainers

Region IV Education Service Center (ESC) has developed three two-hour modules on instructional accommodations and modifications for inclusive classrooms.

The modules are general accommodations, modifications, and strategies appropriate for kindergarten through twelfth grade. The three modules include topics on legal issues and implementation of IDEA 1997, teaching models and classroom practices that support inclusive education, and how to implement accommodations and modification in the general education classroom.

The ABCs of Grading
CD ROM Product
Region IV Education Service Center is pleased to announce the completion of a CD ROM product designed to assist school districts in making grading decisions for students with disabilities. The ABC's of Grading: Guidelines for Evaluating, Grading, and Reporting Progress for Students with Disabilities, developed in partnership with area school districts and Bracewell and Patterson, L.L.P, is designed to provide campuses and districts with guiding questions, application activities, case law information, reference sources, and current websites related to this topic. This product is available to Region IV districts, campuses, and charter schools for the price of $200 per CD ROM. The cost for non Region IV campuses, districts and charter schools is $300 per CD ROM.

Parent Information Brochure
The ABCs of Grading: Information for Parents of Students with Disabilities, available in both English and Spanish, addresses the following topics related to the grading of students with disabilities:

  • Access to the General Education Curriculum
  • IEPs and Report Cards
  • Participation in National and State Assessments
  • Academic Achievement Record (AAR)
  • Graduation Requirements

These multi-page, full-color brochures are available to Texas districts/campuses and charter schools for the price of $2.00 per brochure.
